New Hampshire State Police officer hospitalized after cruiser struck

New Hampshire State Police said a crash involving a cruiser sent a trooper to the hospital Saturday morning. Authorities responded at 8:44 a.m. to a report of a state police car involved in an accident on the Interstate 93 north Exit 1 off-ramp in Salem.Investigators said a car struck the cruiser from behind while it was responding to a separate crash. The cruiser was in the far left lane with emergency lights activated. Kylie Garcia, 21, of Methuen, Massachusetts, drove a 2009 Mercedes C300 sedan. State police said speed, existing road conditions and failure to negotiate the curve of the ramp contributed to the crash. Police said the trooper went to Parkland Medical Center for minor injuries. Garcia and an unnamed amount of passengers were not injured. State police did not say if charges will be pressed. Salem police and fire officials assisted at the scene. Investigators said a car struck the cruiser from behind while it was responding to a separate crash. The cruiser was in the far left lane with emergency lights activated.
